Australian Financial Review: Sarah Hunter wonders where all the female economists are

 

BIS Oxford Economics’ chief economist in Australia, Sarah Hunter, is impressed by the level of economics literacy in Australia, but saddened by the declining number of students taking economics at school or university level.

“People understand how things fit together and how government policy is decided,” she says. “I’m always keen to talk to people about economics and what’s going on, so it’s great that a lot of people have more understanding and basic knowledge.”
