Global Risk Survey: Recovery may be longer and slower

Fears of a second coronavirus wave have eased over the past month, according to our September 2020 flash survey of risk perceptions.

We found businesses slightly more positive about near-term global economic prospects.

However, medium-term concerns have risen. Around one-in-five respondents now judge that the global economy will most likely have an L-shape recovery, reflecting in part the potential for the weakness of activity to trigger a financial crisis.

The survey was completed by 162 businesses between September 4 and 9.
