LATAM | Recovery Tracker falls after setbacks in Brazil and Chile
Our Latin America Recovery Tracker (LART) fell slightly (-0.7pts) during the week ending June 18, following two consecutive weekly gains. Setbacks in Brazil and Chile more than offset modest improvements elsewhere.
What you will learn:
Despite the week’s drop, Brazil remains the leader in the race to pre-pandemic activity levels as of mid-June, which is confirmed by our forecast that Q2 GDP will be marginally bigger than it was in Q4 2019.
Although health conditions haven’t improved substantially and the third wave remains uncontrolled in most countries, authorities have refrained from imposing strict restrictions.
