The Role

We are currently seeking a high-calibre Economist for our expanding Cities Team
to be based in our London office. The team is responsible for our unique suite of
services that cover more than 7,000 cities and regions across the world,
providing regularly updated forecasts, scenarios, and analysis for each location.

Our city specialists also undertake a range of sub-national consultancy projects
for both public and private sector clients across the globe. Examples of the type of
work we undertake include, socio-economic assessments, deep-dive strategic
analysis, location benchmarking and economic impact studies.

We are looking for an ambitious Economist to join the team to work primarily on
our European and Asian city services, with a focus on our city scenarios. We offer

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to all aspects of the production, delivery and
development of our existing city forecasting services. This includes:

  • Forming baseline economic forecasts for cities and regions for several
    countries, on a quarterly basis;
  • Producing insightful economic analysis for these cities, including quarterly
    outlook publications and in-depth reports on key topics;
  • Articulating key messages from our forecasts via reports, webinars,
    presentations and client meetings;


    In this position, you would also lead on the quarterly production of our scenario
    offering, spanning cities across Europe and Asia. This provides an exciting
    opportunity to help develop our city scenario modelling capabilities further over
    time in this fast-growing part of the team.
Skills and experience
Required
  • Strong academic background in Economics; 
  • Between 3 and 5 years’ experience as a professional economist; 
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Practical experience in applying quantitative analytical techniques to large datasets using software such as EViews, R, Stata or Python is desirable; 
  • Ability to work effectively in teams across different offices and to tight deadlines; 
  • Ability to plan and structure workload, ensuring sufficient time for quality assurance from senior colleagues
