Job Vacancy - Oxford Economics - Business Development Executive (Commercial Associate)

Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm frequently ranked as one of the Top 3 economic forecasters globally. Specialist Markets Group has been formed to spearhead the growth of OE’s companies Tourism Economics and NKC African Economics. All activities will be carried out to achieve the main goal of the team – to grow subscription business globally.

This position will be an integral part of Oxford’s growth plans for the named businesses and is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the forefront of the industry. The key responsibilities within this role are as follows:

Commercial Responsibilities

  • Drive growth in subscription revenue across the SMG services.
  • Source leads – research and qualify new business contacts for purposes of outreach.
  • Set up new business meetings for the SMG team.
  • To become proficient at providing demonstrations of services.
  • Become a product champion - develop a strong knowledge of SMG subscription products and their application.
  • Liaise with Commercial Manager and Marketing on marketing strategy, requirements and campaigns
  • Identify market changes and adjust sales approach accordingly.
  • Generate and manage prospecting lists from internal and external events, research and referrals.

Business Reporting and Analysis Responsibilities

  • Track and communicate opportunities, challenges and feedback.
  • Use Salesforce for all sales activity.
  • Monthly reporting – performance of sales and regional updates.
  • Maintain the book of business.
  • Gather and report on internal and external product feedback, suggestions and product development ideas.
  • Communicate monthly product updates.

Skills and Experience: Required

  • A proven, demonstratable sales track record, with at least 2 years of experience in a B2B environment selling subscription or knowledge services
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with and knowledge of either Travel, Corporate or Professional Services clients
  • Must be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong presentation and writing skills, confident on the phone with prospects/clients
  • Experience with Salesforce

Skills and Experience: Desired

  • Economics or international affairs or marketing degree preferred
  • Phone sales experience along with face to face selling
  • Experience selling in research and data services
  • Existing network of contacts
