Internship – Economic Research Analyst - New York, NY

Duration of Internship: 8 months, extension possible
Weekly Work Schedule: Part-time, 3 to 4 days per week (8 hours a day)
Location: New York, New York - remote work until health conditions permit in-office gatherings

Oxford Economics (OE) is seeking a high-caliber intern—Economic Research Analyst for our US Macroeconomics team to be based in our New York office.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong academic credentials. The ideal candidate would be a student pursuing a Master degree or in the final year of a Bachelor degree in economics.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, and EVIEWS
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, prioritize workload to meet deadlines, and maintain maximum effectiveness
  • Strong interest in practical research on macroeconomic issues.
  • Financial market, monetary policy, and fiscal policy knowledge a strong plus
  • Familiarity with Power BI and Bloomberg a plus
  • Right to work in the US
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the production of economic research.
  • Create and maintain detailed financial/economic charts in EVIEWS and excel
  • Assemble presentations
  • Provide research assistance for research reports focused on the US economy, Federal Reserve monetary policy, financial markets, and other ad-hoc projects
  • Undertake research as requested by Senior Economists
